The name of the personal is written in serif to demonstrate the classic nature of attracting an audiance based on a single name

There are clearly no cover-lines so the picture is doesn't fill the entire page.The Gentlewomen magazine frequently uses different colours, so this magazine usage of colour is unconventional.

The model is shown as being powerful due to the low viewpoint and direct method of address.

What representations of gender and celebrity can be found on this front cover?

This is showing women and the model as powerful as if they are looking down on us which subverts older narratives as women where meant to be looking up not the opposite way around.

The main person is making the conventions associated with female qualities, such as the makeup, which supports the fact that gender is a performance.Given that this is intended for a female audience, the cover goes against the masculine gaze.

She is positioned on a platform in the photograph, demonstrating her new power and painting her as a hero as a result of the high-key lighting and the way she holds her arms in such a way as to suggest that she is flexing her muscles.

This clearly shows and represents how far she has advanced in boxing and made a success out of it despsite the criticism.

Van Zoonen:
Context and how it evolves over time are used to construct gender. She is wearing a tracksuit bottom, demonstrating how the fashion for women has moved to more masculine attire.

Feature: Isabella Tree interview

1) Why is this feature unconventional for a women's lifestyle and fashion magazine? Comment on the use media language in these pages. 

The language used and the level of sophistication would indicate that this is intended for a very different audience.

2) How does the Isabella Tree feature reflect the social and cultural contexts of contemporary Britain? Think about AQA's discussion of lifestyle, environmental issues and ethical movements.

The regular values that wont change and the nature we see in Britain has been here for forever and needs to stay.

3) What representations of nature can be found in this feature?

The use of the rainbow might be used to illustrate how the reward of getting greater biodiversity and diversity of plants and animals. 

Feature: Stella McCartney and vegan fashion

1) How does this feature reflect contemporary social and cultural contexts?

Stella commits her brand to be honest and ethical which heavily flows well the modern woke society.

2) Comment on the typography and page design in this feature.

A far more youthful audience would be interested in this.Certain sections use sans-serif text. An older audience might find the serif font appealing because it is much more conventional and older.

Due to her independence and ability to grow her own business without the assistance of her father, she is a good role model for women.

Modern women who didn't focus too much on fashion.

GQ uses artists, novelists,entrepreneurs, .

4) What is Penny Martin's view on feminism and whether the magazine is feminist?

There are feminism related components even though feminist beliefs are not depicted. She also mentions that feminists are behind its production, but she doesn't want this to affect the journal as a whole.

5) Look at the end of the article. How does the Gentlewoman help readers construct or reflect their identity by engaging with events and spaces beyond the magazine? 

They made a GQ club where they organise meetups, invite members, and encourage interaction among readers for a select amount of people.
